What is a Chiropractor?

Chiropractors are health professionals who are qualified to treat a wide variety of neuromusculor-skeletal conditions, without the use of medication. They specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the mechanical dysfunction of joints and muscles, that could affect the nervous system.

With their hands, they manipulate and adjust the joints in the spine and surrounding areas in order to improve mobility, and to relieve pain. Joint stimulation effects how the nervous system works and it is a chiropractor’s goal to make sure joints are in functioning order.

All nerves travel through the spine to the other areas of the body, so it is a chiropractor’s responsibility to make sure there are no obstacles in the nerves’ path to your body. With joints and muscles working properly, your body’s healing mechanisms will more effectively protect you from disease and infections.

Chiropractors are not only concerned with spinal adjustments, but will often recommend healthy lifestyle tips as well. They do not just want to fix the problem that already exists, but want to prevent problems from happening in the future.
